Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fighter Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Vale told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fighter Guy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Vale! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vale lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Vale looks to land a combination but Guy avoids it well. Vale misses with a double jab.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Guy. Guy moves into the clinch. Vale breaks the clinch.
Vale scores with a nice head shot. Vale misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Guy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vale is fending him off so far but Guy persists. Nope, Vale circles away and we're back to standing. Vale throws an overhand right that lands on Guy's shoulder, as Guy tries to avoid the shot. Guy rushes Vale and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Vale manages to break the clinch.
Guy ducks under a wild hook from Vale. Guy has a takedown stuffed. Vale throws a hook to the side of Guy's head but Guy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Guy scores with a leg kick.
Guy clinches up with Vale and pushes him back against the cage. Vale is trying to break the clinch but Guy has him pressed against the cage. Guy fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fighter Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Guy prevents Vale from breaking the clinch. Vale is pressed up against the cage. Guy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vale down to the mat. Vale avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vale swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Guy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vale is fending him off so far but Guy persists. Nope, Vale circles away and we're back to standing. Guy darts in and clinches Vale up against the cage. Vale stalling against the cage.
Vale decides to pull guard. Vale wants to stand but Guy is controlling the position. Guy wants to control from the top but Vale keeps moving. Guy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Vale misses with a series of wild punches.
Guy has Vale up against the cage in a clinch.
Guy tries to pull guard but Vale holds him up against the cage and eventually Guy drops back down to his feet.
Vale pulls guard. Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Vale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vale is looking for a triangle but Guy pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vale looks gassed! Guy is looking to work some ground and pound but Vale has wrist control. Guy wants to pass the guard but Vale is keeping the position. Guy stands and throws Vale's legs to the side, diving into side control. Guy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Guy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Guy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vale wants to get back to his feet. Guy tries to score with some ground and pound. Vale controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vale tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Guy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Guy has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Vale! Vale holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Guy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Vale squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Guy landing strikes from the mount. Vale tries to get back to half guard but can't. Guy working for a guillotine from mount but Vale is in no mood to give up. Guy looking to finish with strikes here!
Guy cracks Vale with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vale tries to get back to half guard but can't. Guy wants to finish this one by submission but Vale is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Guy. Guy throws some wild stikes that Vale manages to avoid easily.
Guy misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Vale is in all sorts of trouble here.
Guy thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Guy prevents Vale from getting the reversal. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Guy working for a submission but Vale is keeping him at bay. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vale working to try and regain half guard.
Guy punching from mount but Vale doing a good job of avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fighter Guy dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Vale gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Guy counters by clinching up. Guy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Guy avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Guy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Guy gets a clinch. Vale wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Guy goes for a takedown attempt but Vale pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vale crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Guy - the referee stops the clock and Vale gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Guy. Vale manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Guy works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vale throws a right hand that Guy ducks under and follows up with a left that Guy also avoids with ease. Guy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vale pinned against the cage. Vale gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Guy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy drops back looking for a leg! Vale is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vale manages to kick Guy off! Guy jumps back into Vale's guard. Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Vale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vale wants to sweep but no luck. Vale is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Guy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Vale pushes Guy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Vale throws a left and a right that both miss
and Guy counters with a head kick. That will keep Vale thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Vale throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Guy forces Vale back against the cage and clinches. Guy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vale is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fighter Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vale wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vale throws a series of strikes that have Guy backpedaling.
Vale wants to clinch but Guy slips to the side and Guy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Guy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vale is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vale breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Guy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vale but Vale pushes him off and we're back to square one. Vale shoots for a double leg takedown but Guy sprawls well. He's pushed Vale's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vale lands with a nice combination. Guy backs away looking to recover. Guy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Guy manages to pull guard.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vale manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Vale misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Guy saw that one coming. Vale stuffs the takedown attempt from Guy. Guy gets slowly back to his feet. Vale listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fighter Guy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vale shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Guy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vale tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Guy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vale manages to avoid the submission attempt. Guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vale is trying to get back to his feet. Guy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vale, who protects the arm well. Vale sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Vale is looking to escape. Vale is looking for a sweep. Guy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Guy wants to take a breather but Vale is having none of it. Guy wants to work for an arm triangle but Vale is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vale tries to roll over but Guy keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vale is defending against the submission attempts here by Guy.
Guy is pressing down on Vale's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vale is holding on for now.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vale scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Guy scores with a body shot.
Guy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vale, pushing him back against the cage. Guy fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Vale is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Vale wants to break the clinch but can't.

Vale closes the distance but Guy moves to the side and Guy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fighter Guy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vale kicks off Guy and gets to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Vale looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Guy clinches up against the cage. Vale wants to stall.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Guy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vale swivels though and keeps the full guard. Paul Vale has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Guy trying to control the position from guard on top but Vale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Fighter Guy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
