Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrance Brookins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins gets a double leg takedown into Rude's guard.

Brookins shoots in looking for a takedown. Rude tries to sprawl out of it but Brookins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rude manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brookins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rude looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brookins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rude manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rude throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brookins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rude moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rude gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Brookins.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Brookins. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Brookins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rude with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brookins lands a big elbow - Rude is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Brookins!
