Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zarius Matzischin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomi Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomi Koski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zarius Matzischin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tomi Koski!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matzischin clinches up against the cage.
Koski wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Matzischin keeps control of Koski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Matzischin lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Matzischin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Koski has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Matzischin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Koski throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Matzischin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Koski waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Matzischin. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Matzischin to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Matzischin is rocked!
Matzischin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koski on the ground.
Koski wanted to stand there but Matzischin had control of the position.
Oh Matzischin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Koski slips nicely into half guard.
Matzischin seems to have got his legs back now.
Koski is keen to just control but Matzischin is a slippery customer.
Koski works his foot free and advances to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matzischin tries to hold on but Koski postures up.
Koski is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koski is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Matzischin has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Koski is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Matzischin is surviving well by controlling Koski's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Matzischin tries to lock up and control but Koski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Matzischin is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Koski wants to take Matzischin's back here but Matzischin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Koski looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Koski looks gassed!

Koski looking to secure an arm triangle but Matzischin defends it well.
Matzischin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Koski wants to take Matzischin's back here but Matzischin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Matzischin wants to hold on but Koski pushes him away.
Matzischin working to try and regain half guard.

Koski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Matzischin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Matzischin tries to lock up and control but Koski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Koski tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Matzischin is squirming around, avoiding Koski's attempts to control the action.

Koski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Matzischin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Matzischin tries to reverse the position but Koski maintains control.
Matzischin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Matzischin tries to get out of the position.
Matzischin wants to hold on but Koski pushes him away.
Matzischin is trying desperately to improve position.
Matzischin is squirming around, avoiding Koski's attempts to control the action.

Koski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Matzischin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Matzischin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomi Koski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Some wild striking there from Koski.
Koski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matzischin tries to clinch but Koski is having none of it.
Matzischin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Matzischin wants to land a leg kick but Koski is out of range.
Koski connects with the punch.
Good work by Koski as he checks the leg kick.
Koski misses with a few strikes there.
Koski throws an overhand right that drops Matzischin like a sack of potatoes! Koski dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tomi Koski!
