Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Average (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shain has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Average!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
26 - 20 - 2, fighting out of New York, M J Shain!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Average misses.
Average throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shain throws a hook to the side of Average's head but Average sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Average takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Shain ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Shain bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Average drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Shain tries to bench press Average off him but Average keeps the position.
Shain sneaks back into half guard.
Shain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Average scores with a couple of nice shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Average lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Average seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Average landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are battling for position here. Shain manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Average trying to control the position from guard on top but Shain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shain wants to sweep but no luck.
Average throws a big elbow that misses.
Shain can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Average controls the pace.
Average wants to stand but Shain has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Average wants to control from the top but Shain keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Average.
A jab from Shain finds it's way through Average's defenses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Average fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Shain throws a looping overhand right but Average ducks down to avoid it.
Average takes one on the button.
Average walks into a stiff left hand from Shain.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Average closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shain circles away.
Shain listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Average on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Average takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Average darts in and clinches Shain up against the cage.
Average stalling in the clinch but Shain improves position.
Shain has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Average uses from the top position.
Shain wants to sweep but no luck.
Average trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Average throwing strikes but missing.
Average throws a big right hand that misses.
Average has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shain lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Average!
Shain wants to control the pace but Average is squirming around nicely.
Average really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Shain fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Shain lands a big elbow.

Shain tries to control but Average wriggling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shain breaks from Average's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Average is rocked!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Shain! Average is out cold! This one is all over!

After the fight, M J Shain was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
