Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Filip Szczecinski!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Szczecinski if he has to take too many more of those.

Young drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Young is looking to take a break and control but Szczecinski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Young tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Young knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Szczecinski on the ground.

Szczecinski isn't going anywhere.

Young wants to control but Szczecinski is keeping him busy.
Young is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Szczecinski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Young laying and praying for a moment but Szczecinski takes advantage and regains half guard.

Young seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Szczecinski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Nathan Young just wasn't active enough.
Szczecinski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Young is fending him off so far but Szczecinski persists. Nope, Young circles away and we're back to standing.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Young creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Szczecinski sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Szczecinski pushes Young away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Young gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Young could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Szczecinski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Young connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Szczecinski some visible discomfort.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Young decides to stand back up.

Young escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Young closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Szczecinski quickly recovers to half guard.

Young wants to take a breather but Szczecinski is having none of it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Nathan Young wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Young fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Young shoots in and bounces Szczecinski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Szczecinski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Szczecinski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Young, who protects the arm well.

Young wants to control but Szczecinski postures up.

Szczecinski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Szczecinski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Filip Szczecinski will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Young shoots in looking for a takedown but Szczecinski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Young's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
