Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ian Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominic Tsunami! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsunami circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tsunami looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Turner! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tsunami lands a nice forearm strike. Tsunami has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Turner gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Tsunami drops an elbow to the side of Turner's head. Turner taking some punishment here, with Tsunami in his half guard. Tsunami is trying to control. Turner wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tsunami is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Tsunami working Turner over with strikes. Nice strikes from Tsunami there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turner is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tsunami scores with a couple of nice shots. Turner on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Tsunami working over Turner with some ground and pound. Turner looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Well, if Tsunami is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner trying to get back to full guard but Tsunami takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Tsunami lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Turner wants to control but Tsunami is having none of it. Tsunami with the ground and pound from mount.
Turner is rocked! Tsunami unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Turner wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Tsunami celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominic Tsunami!
