Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JayDee Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Shimazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Shimazu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JayDee Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimazu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Shimazu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Penn doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shimazu counters with a flying knee. Nice. Shimazu dives in and scores a takedown into Penn's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Penn being controlled here, momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Penn, not yet. Penn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shimazu defends it easily. Shimazu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shimazu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penn keeping moving, preventing Shimazu from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn trying to keep a closed guard but Shimazu is proving a slippery customer.
Shimazu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Shimazu throws a big elbow that misses. Shimazu works a leg free and moves into half guard. Penn is defending against the submission attempts here by Shimazu.
Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shimazu is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shimazu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Penn wants to control but Shimazu is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shimazu is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Penn sees it coming and defends easily. Penn is trying to maintain the position but Shimazu is very close to passing his half guard. Penn is in trouble now - Shimazu has advanced to mount! Penn regains half guard. Penn actively working from the bottom here. Shimazu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Shimazu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shimazu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shimazu trying to control from half guard but Penn is working away. Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shimazu is working away from the top position though. Shimazu stands up and beckons Penn to join him on the feet. Shimazu has a takedown stuffed. JayDee Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Shimazu. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shimazu shoots in for a takedown but Penn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Shimazu dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Penn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shimazu. Shimazu shoots in and bounces Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Penn wants to sweep here but Shimazu controlling him for the moment. Shimazu lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shimazu works over Penn with some ground and pound from guard. Shimazu is pushing down on Penn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Penn is fighting to maintain full guard but Shimazu has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shimazu passes to side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shimazu tries for a kimura but Penn is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Shimazu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shimazu tries for a kimura but Penn is defending well. Shimazu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Penn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shimazu's guard! Nice work there by Penn! William Shimazu has got the better of the ground game so far. Shimazu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Penn rolls with it to try and escape but Shimazu cranks on the arm and Penn is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
