Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Baduk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolai Demikovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baduk's entrance music is Leontiev Valera - Sokrovische Chernogo Morya. A fine choice. Demikovic has chosen Russian National Anthem as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baduk catches Demikovic with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Nicolai Demikovic has been cut.
Demikovic throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Demikovic shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Demikovic showed some decent athleticism there.
Baduk is trying to escape back to his feet but Demikovic uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Baduk is trying to control Demikovic's posture but Demikovic avoids it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baduk prevents Demikovic from improving position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Demikovic throws a strike aimed at the side of Baduk's head but Baduk avoids it well.
Baduk wants to get back to his feet.
Demikovic working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Demikovic is looking to take a break and control but Baduk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Baduk tries to bench press Demikovic off him but Demikovic keeps the position.
Demikovic decides to stand up, so the ref orders Baduk to his feet.
Baduk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nicolai Demikovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Demikovic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baduk but Baduk pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Demikovic has a takedown stuffed.
Sergei Baduk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicolai Demikovic.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Demikovic.
Demikovic takes a kick to the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Demikovic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baduk defends it nicely.
Baduk throws a shot from downtown. Demikovic moves away and avoids it.
Baduk displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Demikovic.
Baduk misses with a head kick.
Demikovic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Baduk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Baduk throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Baduk looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Demikovic shoots in looking for a takedown. Baduk tries to sprawl out of it but Demikovic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baduk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Demikovic moves in looking to clinch but Baduk pushes him off.
Demikovic closes the distance but Baduk moves to the side
and Baduk counters with a head kick that drops Demikovic to the mat! Demikovic scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Demikovic is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Demikovic throws a leg kick
and Baduk counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Demikovic has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sergei Baduk!
A relieved looking Sergei Baduk thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
