Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Siver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hess is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: White and Nerdy. Derick Hess has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Siver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derick Hess!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Siver moves into the clinch.

Siver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hess misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hess misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Siver doesn't manage to clinch there - Hess circles away.
Hess with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Siver to score with a decent uppercut.
Siver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hess is defended easily by Siver.
Siver lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hess backs up against the cage.

Hess shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Siver defends it nicely.

Hess is trying desperately to land a takedown but Siver is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hess.

Hess shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Siver sprawls well. Siver wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hess gets slowly back to his feet.

Siver trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Hess is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Siver tries to stand but Hess is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Siver fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hess, pushing him back against the cage.
Siver has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hess is looking to control Siver's arms but Siver gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hess has his back to the cage.

Siver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Siver throws a head kick that misses

and Hess counters with a shoot takedown. Siver fights it but they end up in guard.
Hess trying to control but Siver is working from the bottom.
Siver wants to stand but Hess is controlling the position.
Siver can't keep his opponent in guard - Hess advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Hess looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Siver looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hess is trying to control. Siver wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hess is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Siver has managed to free his arm - good work.
Siver wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hess trying to control the action but Siver is working from the bottom.

Hess stops Siver from getting back to his feet.
Hess wants to control but Siver is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Derick Hess.
Siver tries to clinch but Hess moves out of range.

Siver moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Horrible takedown by Hess or perhaps it was just good defense by Siver which made him look bad.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Siver wants to stand and escape but Hess is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Derick Hess hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hess avoids the head kick by Siver.
Dennis Siver is winning the standup battle so far.
Hess dives in and grabs Siver's left leg, looking for a takedown. Siver pushes down on Hess's head and hops out.
Hess takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Siver shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hess eats them both and turns towards Siver to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Siver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Siver wants it to stay on the feet.

Hess has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Hess comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Hess can't get the takedown.
Hess prevents Siver from breaking the clinch.
Siver is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Siver is looking to break free of the clinch but Hess has double underhooks.

Hess keeps control of Siver as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hess keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Siver's efforts to push away.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Siver wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hess has him pressed against the cage.

Hess pulls guard successfully.
Siver tries to stand but Hess is controlling from the bottom.
Hess wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Siver has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Siver wants to get up but he can't break Hess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dennis Siver.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Siver, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
