Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Laz Icarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Poldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Icarus's entrance music is Flying dutchman. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Laz Icarus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Poldi!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Icarus takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Poldi misses with a left hand
and Icarus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Poldi misses with a wild body shot.
Poldi is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A head kick misses from Icarus.
Poldi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nice straight punches there by Poldi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Poldi.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Icarus drives through and clinches with Poldi against the ropes.
Icarus trying to control the position but instead, Poldi has worked for underhooks and has pushed Icarus into the ropes.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Poldi just misses with a elbow thrown towards Icarus's brow.

Poldi swings wildly with an uppercut but Icarus uses good head movement to avoid it.

Poldi comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Laz Icarus has been cut.

Icarus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Poldi blocks it with crossed arms.
Icarus lands with a left to the head.

Icarus swings wildly with an uppercut but Poldi uses good head movement to avoid it.

Icarus prevents a body shot from Poldi.
Icarus is pressed up against the ropes. Poldi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Icarus down to the mat. Icarus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Poldi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Icarus on the side of the head.
Poldi looks to throw the jab but Icarus is out of range.
Poldi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Icarus walks into a stiff left hand from Poldi.
Laz Icarus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Icarus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Poldi. Poldi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Icarus throws a right and a left that Poldi avoids nicely.

Poldi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Icarus's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Poldi trying to control the position from guard on top but Icarus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Poldi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Icarus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Icarus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Icarus takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Poldi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Icarus grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Poldi takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Icarus cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Laz Icarus!
A very excited looking Laz Icarus made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
