Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koopa Troopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruger comes into the arena with Tnt blaring out of the sound system. Troopa has chosen Koopa Troopa as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Kruger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Koopa Troopa!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Troopa throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Kruger misses with a low kick.
Troopa buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kruger swings for the body but Troopa moves out of range.
Troopa avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kruger scores with a decent looking hook.
Troopa checks a leg kick.
Troopa walks into a left hand.
Kruger misses with a straight left.
Kruger thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kruger tries a low kick but Troopa avoids it.
Kruger takes a swing at Troopa's ribcage but misses.

Troopa takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Kruger closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kruger throws a hook but Troopa avoids it easily.
Troopa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kruger moves away.

Kruger thuds a left hand into Troopa's body.
Kruger stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Troopa throws a hook to the side of Kruger's head but Kruger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Troopa shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Kruger throws a big shot that misses.
Kruger misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Troopa.
Kruger gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Troopa.
Troopa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kruger wants to land a leg kick but Troopa is out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Troopa blocks a jab.
Troopa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kruger as he avoids it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kruger, as that shot connected.

Troopa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kruger on his heels. He'll look to pass Kruger's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kruger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Troopa connects with a couple of short punches.

Troopa distracts Kruger with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that John Kruger will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kruger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Troopa throws out the jab.

Kruger clobbers Troopa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Sloppy strikes from Kruger. Those never looked like landing.

Kruger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Troopa was well out of range. Poor timing from Kruger.
Troopa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kruger to score with a decent uppercut.

Kruger throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Troopa on the side of the head.

Kruger is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Kruger rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Troopa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kruger's guard now.
Kruger is trying to control the position but Troopa postures up.
Troopa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Troopa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kruger controls Troopa momentarily but Troopa frees himself.
Troopa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Troopa throws a strike but Kruger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kruger has his foot on Troopa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Troopa works his way back into a safe position though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Koopa Troopa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Troopa throws a strike but Kruger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kruger is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Troopa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Troopa has escaped and now he's on top!
Troopa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kruger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Troopa, into his guard.
Kruger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kruger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Troopa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kruger has managed to get both his arms back between Troopa's legs - danger averted.

Koopa Troopa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Troopa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
