Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cisco Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stuart Fairhurst !
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to clinch up
and Fairhurst counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fairhurst tries for a takedown but Burns sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fairhurst as he avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burns.
Fairhurst circles away from the clinch attempt.

Fairhurst scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Burns punching from the bottom.
Fairhurst with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fairhurst manages to mount him!
Burns can't escape the position.

Burns is in a horrible position here. Fairhurst smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Let's hope that Fairhurst has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Burns wants to hold on but Fairhurst pushes him away.

Fairhurst has control of Burns's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Burns regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fairhurst cracks Burns with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fairhurst manages to capitalize on a mistake by Burns to take his back!

Fairhurst has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fairhurst has the hooks in. Burns is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Burns is working hard here to advance position.
Fairhurst lands punches and elbows.
A lull in the action here.
Burns rolls, trying to escape but Fairhurst keeps control of the position.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Fairhurst is hanging on to Burns's back as he tries to escape.
Burns looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Fairhurst is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Burns up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stuart Fairhurst dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Burns tries to sprawl but Fairhurst drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Burns wants to get back to full guard.
Fairhurst stops Burns from getting back to his feet.
Fairhurst frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fairhurst putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Fairhurst has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Burns is looking to improve his position but Fairhurst isn't that keen on the idea.

Fairhurst lands a couple of good shots and Burns has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Fairhurst 's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Fairhurst biding his time, controlling Burns.
Burns trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Fairhurst is working for a rear naked choke. Burns is not defending it well and Fairhurst has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Burns refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Burns's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Stuart Fairhurst !
