Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Gilbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Satoshi Kajiwara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Gilbert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Kajiwara!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilbert with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kajiwara counters with a good, hard body kick but Gilbert shrugs it off.
Kajiwara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gilbert stuffs the takedown.
Kajiwara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kajiwara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gilbert avoids the head kick by Kajiwara.
Kajiwara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kajiwara throws a head kick that Gilbert semi-blocks.

Gilbert tries to sprawl but Kajiwara drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kajiwara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kajiwara throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kajiwara is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kajiwara throws a sloppy head kick and Gilbert moves out of range easily.
Gilbert throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kajiwara's waist but Kajiwara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gilbert off to one side.
Satoshi Kajiwara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kajiwara lands a head kick!


It looks like Ian Gilbert has been cut.

Gilbert stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gilbert wants it to stay on the feet.

Kajiwara throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gilbert. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Kajiwara tries to land a front kick but Gilbert steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Gilbert fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kajiwara avoids it really well and circles away.

Kajiwara slaps away a takedown attempt from Gilbert, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gilbert throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kajiwara's waist but Kajiwara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gilbert off to one side.

Kajiwara gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Gilbert shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kajiwara but Kajiwara pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice straight punches there by Kajiwara. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kajiwara.
Gilbert tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kajiwara sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gilbert somewhat.
Kajiwara lands a head kick. Gilbert smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kajiwara instigates a clinch.

Kajiwara breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kajiwara moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kajiwara throws a sloppy head kick and Gilbert moves out of range easily.

Kajiwara gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Gilbert avoids the head kick by Kajiwara.
Kajiwara shoots in looking for a takedown. Gilbert tries to sprawl out of it but Kajiwara keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gilbert manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kajiwara moves into range and clinches up with Gilbert.
Kajiwara has Gilbert pressed against the cage, preventing Gilbert from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Gilbert is trying to break free.
Kajiwara with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


Ian Gilbert's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kajiwara fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satoshi Kajiwara dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gilbert is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kajiwara defends it well.

Gilbert is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gilbert drops back looking for a leg! Kajiwara is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kajiwara manages to kick Gilbert off! Gilbert jumps back into Kajiwara's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kajiwara is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gilbert has his hands clasped together but Kajiwara extends an breaks Gilbert's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kajiwara.
