PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sho Goon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Damaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mac Damaar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sho Goon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mac Damaar!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damaar with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Goon shoots in but Damaar avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Goon slips a jab and a cross from Damaar.
Goon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Goon shoots in for a takedown but Damaar shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sho Goon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Goon with that takedown attempt.
Damaar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Goon on the side of the head.
Damaar misses with a double jab.
Goon has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Goon there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Damaar lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Goon can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Damaar and Goon drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Damaar.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mac Damaar!
In his post fight interview, Mac Damaar started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
