Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oscar Alho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Uy! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Uy lands a left and a right that sends Alho crashing to the canvas! Uy dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Oscar Alho has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Uy looking to control and managing it successfully. Alho is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Uy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Alho is trying desperately to improve position. Uy controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alho is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Uy throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Alho because Uy loaded up on that one. Uy controlling his opponent. Alho avoids a series of strikes thrown by Uy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by William Uy. Alho walks into a straight right hand from Uy. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Uy lands a lovely overhand right. Uy throws a right and a left that both miss. William Uy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No luck for Alho with that takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alho. Uy drops Alho with a nice combination! Uy dives into Alho's guard, looking to finish!
Alho is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Uy pushing down on Alho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Oh Alho is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Alho keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Uy stands up from half guard. Alho tries to score a power double leg takedown but Uy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alho somewhat. Alho is breathing heavily. Uy lands with a big right hook that stumbles Alho - he's out on his feet here! Uy follows up with another monster hook that separates Alho from consciousness! Alho falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Uy stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). William Uy! Our winner, William Uy, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
