Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tafari Chinonso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frangos Fotopoulos! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fotopoulos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chinonso has closed the distance and engaged Fotopoulos in a clinch.
Fotopoulos wants to break free but Chinonso has control.
Fotopoulos tries to break the clinch but Chinonso is controlling the position. Fotopoulos wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Chinonso gets control of Fotopoulos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chinonso will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Chinonso pushes Fotopoulos off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fotopoulos throws a right and a left that both miss. Fotopoulos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chinonso instigates a clinch. Chinonso's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chinonso really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chinonso closes the distance and pushes Fotopoulos back into the cage. Chinonso successfully pulls guard.
Fotopoulos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chinonso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fotopoulos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fotopoulos throwing strikes but missing. Chinonso looking for a triangle here. Fotopoulos is fighting it but it looks tight! Chinonso pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Fotopoulos is tapping out - this one is all over!
