Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Dreyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Nealson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nealson has chosen Hearts on Fire as his entrance music. Robert Nealson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Nealson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dreyer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nealson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dreyer but Dreyer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice sprawl there from Nealson as Dreyer shoots in.
Nealson wants to clinch.
Nealson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice takedown defense from Nealson. No joy for Dreyer on that attempt.

Dreyer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dreyer tries to move to mount but Nealson blocks the move with his legs.
Nealson is looking for a sweep.
Nealson can't do much from the bottom here.

Dreyer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Dreyer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nealson is just riding it out for now. Dreyer eventually gives up the hold.
Nealson tries to kick Dreyer off but Dreyer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nealson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dreyer's head.

Dreyer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dreyer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dreyer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nealson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round but I would say that Henry Dreyer will probably get the nod.

Nealson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Dreyer drives through and clinches with Nealson against the cage.
Nealson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dreyer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dreyer pushes off an throws an elbow but Nealson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Nealson tries to break the clinch but Dreyer is controlling the position.
Dreyer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nealson is trying to maintain a safe position but Dreyer gets an underhook and turns Nealson into the cage.

Dreyer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nealson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Dreyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dreyer keeps control of Nealson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Dreyer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nealson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nealson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dreyer trying to keep a closed guard but Nealson is proving a slippery customer.
Nealson passes Dreyer's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Nealson stands up and beckons Dreyer to join him on the feet.

Dreyer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nealson was covering up waiting for the punch and Dreyer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nealson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dreyer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Dreyer wants to get up but he can't break Nealson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nealson is trying to keep Dreyer in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dreyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
