Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claudio Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Shaw had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Claudio Santos!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw throws a right and a left that Santos avoids nicely.
Santos scores with a jab to the body.
Santos throws a nice looking combination but Shaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A punch combination from Santos misses.
Santos looks to land a body kick but Shaw moved away.
Shaw moves away from the strike by Santos.
Santos wants to clinch up but Shaw keeps it at a distance.
Shaw lands with a nice combination. Santos backs away looking to recover.
Shaw throws a leg kick but Santos sees it coming and moves out of range.

Santos clinches.
Santos gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shaw.
Shaw tries for a takedown but Santos manages to get underhooks.
Shaw can't find room to land a body shot as Santos controls the action.

Santos successfully pulls guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Santos is trying to control the position but Shaw postures up.
Santos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shaw controls the pace.
Santos wants to stand but Shaw is controlling the position.
Santos trying to keep a closed guard but Shaw is proving a slippery customer.

Santos is looking for a triangle but Shaw pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Shaw avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shaw's waist but Shaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.
Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shaw but Shaw pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Shaw, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Shaw against the cage but Shaw circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Roy Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Claudio Santos.
Santos looks winded!
Santos looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shaw shoots in and drives through. Santos sprawls well.

Santos drives through with a takedown into Shaw's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santos circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Santos.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Santos advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Santos with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Claudio Santos will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Santos tries to clinch but Shaw moves out of range.

Santos pushes Shaw up against the cage in a clinch.
Santos tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shaw just stands there and leans against the cage.
Santos has Shaw pressed against the cage, preventing Shaw from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Santos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shaw walks away with a smile on his face. Santos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Santos tries to clinch but Shaw is having none of it.

Shaw tries to keep at a distance but Santos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shaw drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Santos gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Santos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos fails with the takedown.
Roy Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Claudio Santos.

Shaw moves into range and clinches up with Santos.
Santos tries to pull guard but Shaw forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Santos drags the fight down to the ground.

Shaw decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Santos is breathing heavily.
Shaw looks to land a combination but Santos avoids it well.
Shaw darts in trying to clinch

and Santos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shaw controls Santos momentarily but Santos frees himself.
Shaw wants to sweep here but Santos controlling him for the moment.

Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Claudio Santos has got the better of the ground game so far.

Shaw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaw controls Santos momentarily but Santos frees himself.
Shaw keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.
Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Santos advances position into side control!
Santos misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Santos advances to full mount.

Santos misses with a head shot.
Santos controlling the pace for now.

Santos moves to back control.
Shaw wants to escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Santos has good solid back control here.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Santos's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claudio Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Santos clinches up with Shaw and pushes him back against the cage.
Santos tries to pull guard but Shaw forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Shaw is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Santos to keep the fight standing.
Shaw wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santos keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Shaw's efforts to push away.
Shaw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Santos just stands there and leans against the cage.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shaw lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Santos backwards.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Santos.

Santos manages to break the clinch.
Shaw lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shaw.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Santos manages to break the clinch.
Santos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shaw avoids it really well and circles away.

Shaw clinches with his opponent.
Santos tries a body shot but Shaw blocks it.
Santos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shaw walks away with a smile on his face. Santos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Shaw scores with a punch to the head.

Shaw moves into the clinch successfully.
Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santos tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santos is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Roy Shaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Santos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Claudio Santos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shaw tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Santos avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roy Shaw.
I think Santos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
