Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Ruben Yvel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 31 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Bear! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yvel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bear tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yvel swats him away and circles back towards the center. Yvel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bear dives in and scores a takedown into Yvel's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bear stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yvel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yvel wants to sweep but no luck. Bear controls from within his opponent's guard. Yvel is trying to keep Bear in close.
Bear is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Bear. Donk. Bear catches Yvel right on the button with a cross. Bear looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yvel is fending him off so far but Bear persists. Nope, Yvel circles away and we're back to standing. Ruben Yvel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bear tries to clinch there but Yvel circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yvel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bear but Bear pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bear wants to clinch up but Yvel keeps it at a distance. Yvel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Yvel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bear's head. Bear tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yvel swivels and escapes. Bear drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bear drops back looking for a leg! Yvel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yvel manages to kick Bear off! Bear jumps back into Yvel's guard. Bear is looking to work some ground and pound but Yvel has wrist control. Bear working some strikes from top position. Bear prevents Yvel from getting back to his feet. Yvel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bear on the ground. Bear trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yvel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bear wants to control from the top but Yvel keeps moving. Bear showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bear advances to half guard. Bear is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Bear lands a big elbow.
It looks like Ruben Yvel has been cut. Bear content just to control the position here. Bear is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Bear fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ruben Yvel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Bear.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Horrible takedown by Yvel or perhaps it was just good defense by Bear which made him look bad. Bear changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yvel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bear tries to advance to mount but Yvel denies him. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Yvel can't do much from the bottom here. Bear has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bear. Yvel thumps Bear with a low kick. Bear shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bear is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bear decides to stand up. Yvel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bear circles away quickly and effectively. Bear shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Yvel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bear. That did some damage! Yvel shoots in for a double leg but Bear sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yvel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bear looking to score a takedown here. Yvel is defending well but Bear drives through and ends up in Yvel's guard. Bear is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Bear dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ruben Yvel's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Bear darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bear wants to pass the guard but Yvel is defending well. Bear content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Yvel is not content to let Bear control the position. Yvel wants to control but Bear is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bear is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round. Yvel is looking to escape. Bear wants to control but Yvel is keeping him busy. Bear is looking for a kimura here.
Yvel is defending against the submission attempts here by Bear.
Yvel avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bear. Bear working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Yvel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bear is working away from the top position though. Bear is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Yvel is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear throws a right hand that Yvel ducks under and follows up with a left that Yvel also avoids with ease. Yvel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bear. Bear throws a lazy right hand but Yvel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Yvel shoots in for a takedown but Bear shows good takedown defense. Bear is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Yvel misses with a takedown and Bear cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bear shoots in and drives through. Yvel sprawls well. Bear stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruben Yvel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bear fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bear will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. No luck for Bear with that takedown attempt. Bear is breathing heavily. Bear shoots for a takedown but Yvel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Yvel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bear stuffs the takedown attempt from Yvel. Yvel gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bear fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yvel sprawls well initially but Bear persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Yvel is trying to stand.

Bear wants to free his trapped foot but Yvel is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Bear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ruben Yvel's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Yvel tries for a takedown but Bear sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Good leg kick by Yvel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Bear shoots in looking for a takedown but Yvel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bear's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bear shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yvel as he avoids it easily. Bear will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ruben Yvel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Bear. Yvel thows a body shot but no joy. Bear comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Yvel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bear is fending him off so far but Yvel persists. Nope, Bear circles away and we're back to standing. Bear keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yvel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bear defends it nicely. Bear feints and as Yvel raises his hands in defense, Bear changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bear engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Yvel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yvel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bear is one step ahead there. Bear tries to free his leg and advance position but Yvel is retaining full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bear won't allow Yvel to sweep him here. Bear slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bear wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yvel keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bear works to advance to full mount. Yvel defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Bear wants to finish this one by submission but Yvel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bear. Bear working away from the top, dropping strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bear scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ruben Yvel's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ruben Yvel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
