Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wallace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Douglas just misses with a punch to the body.

Douglas darts in and clinches Wallace up against the cage.
Douglas content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Douglas is trying to trip Wallace. He has hold of a leg but Wallace is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Douglas persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth.
Douglas throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Douglas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Douglas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Douglas throws a big right hand that misses.
Douglas postures up in Wallace's guard and throws a big left but Wallace blocks it.
Douglas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wallace is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Douglas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Douglas throwing strikes from guard but Wallace blocks nicely.

Douglas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Douglas stands up over Wallace, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wallace looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Douglas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Douglas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Douglas prevents Wallace from getting back to his feet.
Douglas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Douglas is one step ahead there.
Douglas is looking to work some ground and pound but Wallace has wrist control.
Douglas is in close to Wallace's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Douglas throws a big elbow that misses.
Douglas wants to pass the guard but Wallace is keeping the position.
Douglas lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Douglas drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Douglas as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Wallace screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Douglas! Nice submission victory there!

A determined Charles Douglas didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
