Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jawana Die !
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Die keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Die pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Valentine tries to keep at a distance but Die has taken the fight into the clinch.
Valentine's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Valentine looking for a takedown.
With the fighters up against the cage, Valentine throws an elbow but misses.

Die pulls guard successfully.
Valentine wanted to stand there but Die had control of the position.
Die looking to control but Valentine passes into half guard.
Die desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Valentine prevents Die from improving his position.

Die moves into full guard.
Die working a defensive guard here.
Valentine wants to get up but he can't break Die 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Die looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Die wants to sweep here but Valentine controlling him for the moment.
Die trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Valentine drives through and clinches with Die against the cage.
Valentine lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Valentine prevents a takedown attempt there.
Come on Valentine - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Die can't break the clinch.
Valentine keeps control of Die as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Die managing to block the knees to the body from Valentine.
Die wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Valentine is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Die is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Valentine pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Valentine pushes off an throws an elbow but Die leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Valentine comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Jawana Die has been cut.
Valentine stops a takedown attempt from Die .
Die changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Valentine fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Valentine looks to clinch

and Die counters by clinching up.
Valentine looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Valentine gets underhooks to prevent Die 's takedown attempt.
Die looks gassed!
Valentine lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Die is trying to break free.
Valentine gets through Die 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Die blocks the elbow strike.
A short uppercut from Valentine.

A left hand lands to the body for Valentine.
Valentine gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Valentine manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Valentine drops down looking for an ankle pick but Die pulls his leg out and moves away.

Valentine instigates a clinch.

Die manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Die is trying to hold Valentine in close to prevent damage but Valentine has managed to pass into half guard.
Die tries to get to full guard but Valentine has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valentine decides to stand and escape the position.
Die will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Valentine dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jawana Die 's cut.
That's time! Valentine's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A head kick misses from Die .
Valentine tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Die swivels and escapes.
Die circles away from the clinch attempt

and Die counters by clinching up.
Die jumps guard but Valentine stands there with Die around his waist. Die gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Valentine throws an elbow but misses.
Die takes an elbow to the temple.
Valentine with a knee to the head.


That has opened up Jawana Die 's cut even more.
Die fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Valentine jumps into guard, dragging Die to the mat.
Die postures up.
Valentine is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Die is controlling him.
Die is breathing heavily.

Die drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Valentine dives on top into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Valentine tries to stand but Die is controlling from the bottom.

Die is looking for a triangle but Valentine pushes his legs off easily.
Valentine controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Valentine gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Valentine gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Valentine is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Valentine tries for a takedown but Die manages to get underhooks.

Die changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Valentine fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Valentine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Die sprawls well initially but Valentine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Die tries to roll over but Valentine keeps him under control.

Valentine stands up from half guard.

Valentine moves into the clinch.
Valentine misses with an elbow over the top.
Die can't get the takedown.
Valentine lands with a left to the head.
Valentine will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Die up against the cage.

Valentine lands an elbow inside.
Valentine stalling the fight.
A right handed body shot lands from Valentine.
Valentine lands a nice elbow.
A bit of stalling here from Valentine.

Valentine has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Die is trying to keep an underhook but Valentine manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Valentine wants to get back to his feet.
Valentine moves into full mount! Die won't be happy about that!
Die is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Valentine controlling the position easily from mount.

Valentine is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Valentine closes the distance looking to clinch

and Die decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valentine's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Die won't allow Valentine to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Valentine dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Jawana Die 's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Die counters with a shoot takedown. Valentine fights it but they end up in guard.
Valentine wants to stand and escape but Die is having none of it.
Die trying to control but Valentine is working from the bottom.
Die looking to sit in guard and control but Valentine gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Die working a defensive guard here.
Die takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Valentine decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Valentine tries to clinch up

so Die counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Valentine manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Valentine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Die swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Die wants to stand and escape but instead Valentine has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Valentine gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Valentine wants to clinch but Die slips to the side

and Die holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Valentine wants a takedown but no success here.
Die prevents a takedown attempt there.
Nice elbow from Valentine.
Stalling in the clinch from Valentine.
Valentine lands an elbow inside.


The cut above Jawana Die 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Valentine jumps into guard, dragging Die to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Valentine wants to stand and escape but Die is having none of it.
Die is pushing down on Valentine's leg trying to pass to half guard. Valentine is fighting to maintain full guard but Die has managed to sneak the leg through.
Valentine looks like he's trying to stand up.
Die controlling the action here.
Die stops Valentine from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Valentine is doing well to control the position and prevent Die from advancing to side control.

Die is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Valentine doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Die .
Valentine won't allow Die to pass to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jawana Die comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Valentine has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
