Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ware comes to the cage accompanied by Put on. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as John Alves enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarcus Ware! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Alves! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ware shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alves's guard. Alves wants to stand up but Ware is controlling him. Ware tries to free his leg and advance position but Alves is retaining full guard. Alves wants to sweep but no luck. Ware with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ware drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alves looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alves looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alves! Ware tries to buck Alves off but Alves is having none of it. Ware manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ware controlling the pace. Alves is refusing to be controlled, as Ware sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ware is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Alves preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Ware is tying to control. Alves wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Alves wants to control but Ware is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ware works over Alves's head and body with a nice combination. Alves throws a head kick but Ware moves out of range.
Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ware wants to get back to full guard. Alves sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ware defending well though. Ware works his way to full guard. Good work. Alves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Alves avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ware had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ware Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alves's back instead. Ware is breathing heavily. Ware keeps control of the position as Alves tries to break free.
Ware trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Alves trying to control the action but Ware just sinks the hooks in.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ware is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alves is defending well though. Ware let's go of the attempt for now. Alves holding both Ware 's hands and preventing any damage. Alves trying to control the hands but Ware breaks the grip. Alves rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Alves wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Demarcus Ware dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A head kick misses from Ware. Ware scores with a decent looking hook. Ware is looking to clinch. Alves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alves there as he acknowledges the shot.
Alves is rocked! Ware takes the fight into the clinch. Alves is still on wobbly legs! Can Ware finish him? Alves throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Alves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ware is looking to clinch. Alves seems to have recovered his senses. Ware tries to clinch up. Ware fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ware shoots in and bounces Alves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ware thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ware drops back looking for a leg! Alves is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alves manages to kick Ware off! Ware jumps back into Alves's guard. Ware looking to pass the guard. Alves manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ware manages to get himself to full guard.
Ware is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ware is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ware swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ware is looking for a triangle here but Alves uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Ware is looking to regain half guard here but Alves keeps moving and retains side control. Alves is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Ware is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ware's legs. Alves is looking to take a break and control but Ware is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ware manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ware is trying to maintain the position but Alves is very close to passing his half guard. Ware moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ware throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ware working a defensive guard but Alves manages to pass into side control anyway.
Ware tries to bench press Alves off him but Alves keeps the position. Alves has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ware lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. No joy there for Ware, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ware misses with a two punch combination.
Demarcus Ware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters circling a little - Alves finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Alves shoots and misses and Ware counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Alves is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ware wants to break free but Alves has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Demarcus Ware dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Ware goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ware throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Alves is looking to clinch but Ware is avoiding it.
Ware tries to clinch up. Alves throws a right and a left that Ware avoids nicely. Ware tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alves paws at him with a jab and circles away. Alves gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Alves manages to break the clinch.
Ware scores with a takedown into Alves's guard. Ware pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now. Alves takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wareis looking to pass into half guard but Alves pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Alves is in guard. Ware is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Ware is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alves showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Alves stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alves tries for a takedown but Ware circles away easily and Ware counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ware gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ware tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ware gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ware is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Ware misses with a knee strike.
Alves manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Alves looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ware puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Ware passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alves! Ware gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Ware. Alves rushes Ware and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ware wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ware wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ware is looking to break free of the clinch but Alves has double underhooks. Alves tries for a takedown. No joy.
Alves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ware changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ware tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ware has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ware working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ware thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ware wants to control but Alves is keeping him busy. Alves is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Demarcus Ware showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ware has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
