Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Renato Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Bring Da Ruckus blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renato Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Marsh! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie throws a head kick but Marsh moves out of range.
Gracie thows a body shot but no joy. Marsh takes one to the chin there. Gracie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Gracie blocks a head kick by Marsh.
Gracie throws a predictable looking body shot
and Marsh counters with a stiff right hand. A head kick misses from Gracie. Marsh lands with a cross. Gracie jabs Marsh to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gracie throws a head kick that misses. Marsh scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Marsh has managed to clinch.
Marsh throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie. Gracie trying to land knees to the body.
Marsh misses with a short punch on the inside. Marsh blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Gracie throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie avoids a wild elbow strike from Marsh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Marsh's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Marsh tries a body shot but Gracie blocks it.
Marsh misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie misses with some punches.
Marsh lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracie backwards. Gracie blocks the elbow strike.
Marsh tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gracie lands a right hand that snaps the head of Marsh backwards. A short left from Gracie. Gracie throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A quick uppercut on the inside from Gracie. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie takes a shot to the head. Marsh missing with knees to the body.

Gracie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Marsh has picked Gracie up - he's going for a ride! Marsh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Marsh wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Gracie blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marsh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is trying to stand.
Marsh throwing shots but Gracie is blocking nicely. Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Gracie trying to control but Marsh postures up.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Marsh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Marsh not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gracie tries to get to full guard but Marsh has control of the leg. Marsh trying to pass the guard but Gracie defending well. Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Marsh is very close to passing his half guard. Marsh trying to mount his opponent but Gracie defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to roll over but Marsh keeps him under control. Marsh lands strikes from half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Gracie manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Marsh prevents Gracie from getting back to his feet. Marsh stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie. Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marsh's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marsh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there. Marsh trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie wants to get up but he can't break Marsh's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Gracie wants to control from the top but Marsh keeps moving.
Renato Gracie has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Gracie checks the leg kick. Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie throws a head kick but Marsh moves out of range.
Renato Gracie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marsh moves out of range of the body kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gracie keeps Marsh at a distance using the push kick. Gracie misses with an attempted mid kick.
Gracie throws a hook to the side of Marsh's head but Marsh sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A good leg kick by Marsh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renato Gracie dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A head kick by Gracie misses enabling Marsh to counter with a crisp jab. Gracie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Marsh. Marsh obviously looking to wear him down.
Gracie misses with an attempted mid kick.
Marsh pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gracie is out of range and Marsh settles back down. Marsh checks a low kick from Gracie. Marsh dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard. Marsh throwing strikes but missing. Marsh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Marsh throws a big elbow that misses. Marsh tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Marsh is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kris Marsh has got the better of the ground game so far. Gracie is wriggling around but Marsh manages to pass to half guard.
Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marsh's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marsh's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsh tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Gracie controlling the position easily from mount. Gracie is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Jab, jab by Marsh - just one landing. Marsh misses with a body kick. Kris Marsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marsh bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gracie's head backwards. Marsh fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie. Marsh scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A decent looking cross lands there for Marsh. Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marsh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Marsh throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it. Marsh misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie cracks Marsh with a good jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie checks a leg kick nicely. Marsh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marsh throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kris Marsh seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gracie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marsh sees it coming and avoids it easily. Marsh checks the leg kick. Marsh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Marsh fails with a takedown attempt. Marsh blocks a head kick by Gracie.
Gracie throws a jab when Marsh was well out of range. Marsh avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Marsh. Gracie takes one to the side of the head.
Marsh looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range. Marsh scores with a shot to the body.
Gracie throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Marsh connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Marsh throws a right hand that misses
and Gracie counters with a slapping leg kick. Gracie swings for the body but Marsh moves out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gracie.
Marsh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie. Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Gracie.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Gracie lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marsh doesn't seem phased though. Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marsh. Marsh thows a body shot but no joy. Marsh swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marsh misses with a body shot.
Marsh throws a leg kick that is checked and Gracie counters with a body kick. Gracie throws a head kick that misses. Marsh throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and checks it nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie misses with a head kick.
Gracie throws an overhand right that lands on Marsh's shoulder, as Marsh tries to avoid the shot. Gracie takes a jab right on the kisser.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kris Marsh will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Marsh with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marsh was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie. Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marsh. Gracie staying out of range there. Marsh buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gracie lands a head kick. Marsh smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Marsh drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marsh looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gracie is avoiding damage well.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gracie explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Marsh ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Marsh lands with an overhand left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Marsh misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming. Marsh displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Marsh to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Marsh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gracie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Marsh wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marsh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gracie holds on and takes a little breather. Marsh throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marsh lands a couple of digs. Gracie working a defensive guard here.
Gracie is really struggling to control Marsh but he's trying to hold on to the position. Gracie controlling Marsh's posture.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Renato Gracie. Marsh throws a leg kick but Gracie checks it. Marsh looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie avoids the body shot from Marsh.

Gracie connects with a nice looking jab.
Gracie checks a leg kick. Marsh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away. Marsh lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Gracie throws a right and a left that Marsh avoids nicely. Gracie is looking to slow Marsh down with leg kicks. Gracie throws a front kick aimed at Marsh's knee but Marsh avoids it well. Marsh tests Gracie's chin there with a solid looking shot. Marsh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh shoots in looking for a takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl out of it but Marsh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gracie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gracie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A head kick misses from Gracie. Marsh misses with a leg kick. Marsh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marsh lands in his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marsh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marsh passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gracie is looking for a sweep.
And that's the end of the fight! Kris Marsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Marsh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
