PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kaarlo Kuningas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Muchacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaarlo Kuningas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Muchacho!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muchacho avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kuningas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Kuningas closes the distance and clinches.
Kuningas using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Muchacho has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Muchacho tries to score a body lock takedown but Kuningas shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Muchacho has had enough of the clinch but Kuningas keeps him there for the moment.
Kuningas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Muchacho avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Muchacho lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Muchacho is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Muchacho might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kuningas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kuningas pushes Muchacho off looking to stand but Muchacho dives back in and keeps control.

Muchacho not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Muchacho takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Muchacho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Muchacho connects with a nice short shot to Kuningas's temple.
Muchacho is controlling the pace.
Kuningas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Muchacho tries to pass to full mount but Kuningas defends it.
Muchacho with the ground and pound but Kuningas uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Muchacho trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuningas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kuningas tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kuningas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kuningas looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Muchacho puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Muchacho moves nicely into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuningas tries to improve position but can't.
Muchacho working the ground and pound.
Kuningas is breathing heavily.
Muchacho landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kuningas is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Muchacho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Muchacho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Check out the look on Muchacho's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Muchacho advances to mount.
Muchacho wants to control the pace but Kuningas is squirming around nicely.

Kuningas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Kuningas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kuningas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kuningas is in a horrible position here. Muchacho smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Muchacho looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Muchacho fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Muchacho cracks Kuningas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Kuningas is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Muchacho cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Kuningas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Muchacho has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Kuningas is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ivan Muchacho!
