Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kris Naga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guillaume Mein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Naga might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Heretic Anthem. Guillaume Mein has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kris Naga's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Naga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Guillaume Mein!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mein shoots in looking for a takedown but Naga manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mein's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Naga defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mein.
Naga connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mein takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Naga has Mein up against the cage in a clinch.

Naga breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kris Naga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guillaume Mein.
A bone on bone clash there as Naga blocks the leg kick.

Naga clinches up against the cage.

Naga has Mein pushed against the cage.
Naga lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Mein tries for a takedown. No joy.
A shot in the inside from Naga.
Naga lands a left hand.

Naga breaks the clinch.
Jab, jab by Naga - just one landing.
Naga scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Naga ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Naga checks a low kick from Mein.
Naga cracks Mein with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Naga paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mein fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A swing and a miss from Naga.
Mein takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Naga moves into range and clinches up with Mein.
The referee calls for Naga to work.
Mein is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Naga gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Naga pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Naga ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Naga.
Mein shoots in but Naga avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mein takes one to the chin there.
Naga is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Mein takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mein misses with an uppercut.
Naga lunges at Mein with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mein's hand.
Naga lands the left hand.


Mein is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Naga drives through and clinches with Mein against the cage.
Mein is still on wobbly legs! Can Naga finish him?
Naga is pushing Mein up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Mein seems to have recovered his senses.
Mein has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Naga after a bit of a struggle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kris Naga dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Naga is looking to clinch.
Naga feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Naga tries to close the distance and clinch but Mein swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Naga connects with a crisp jab.
Naga tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mein counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Naga's guard now.
Mein trying to control but Naga is working from the bottom.

Mein is pushing down on Naga's leg trying to pass to half guard. Naga is fighting to maintain full guard but Mein has managed to sneak the leg through.

Naga wants to get back to full guard.
Mein seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Naga does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mein thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mein keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Let's hope that Mein has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Naga might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Guillaume Mein.
Mein has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mein there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mein takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mein is defended easily by Naga.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mein looks for a takedown but Naga sprawls well.

Naga tries to clinch but Mein moves out of range.
Mein shoots in but no luck this time.
Kris Naga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guillaume Mein.

Naga tries to clinch but Mein moves away

and Mein counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mein.
Naga lands a left hand.
Naga lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Naga's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Naga tries to clinch up but Mein circles away and keeps his distance.

Naga closes the distance and clinches.
Mein tries for a takedown. No joy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Naga breaks the clinch.
Mein swats away the attempt to clinch by Naga.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kris Naga will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Mein is trying to pull guard but Naga turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Naga lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mein or not.
Naga's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Naga tries to clinch up but Mein circles away and keeps his distance.

Mein has taken the fight to the clinch.

Naga escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Naga throws a one two combo.

Naga gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Naga slowing the pace effectively.
Naga lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mein backwards.

Naga breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mein.

Mein gets tackled into the cage by Naga. Naga maintains the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Naga scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mein changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Naga fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kris Naga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guillaume Mein.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kris Naga showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Naga, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
