Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Kendall Grove has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove tries to clinch but Santiago is having none of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Grove tries to bench press Santiago off him but Santiago keeps the position.
Santiago wants to stand but Grove is controlling his arm.

The referee asks Santiago politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Santiago prefers to stall for the moment though.
Grove takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santiago avoids the strikes from the bottom by Grove.
Grove is trying to get back to half guard.
Grove seems a little lost for a moment, as Santiago dominates the positioning.
Let's hope that Santiago has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Santiago takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Grove is trying to escape the mount but Santiago keeps good control and instead manages to take Grove's back.

Santiago is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Grove defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santiago has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Grove is defending well but eventually Santiago manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Grove has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
