Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyler Richards! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Meyers! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards misses with a kick to the body.
Richards leaves Meyers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Richards steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Meyers. Meyers gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Richards's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyers lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Richards tries to get back to half guard but can't. Meyers tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Richards manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Meyers trying to pass the guard but Richards defending well. Meyers working over Richards with some ground and pound. Richards looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Meyers seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Richards has recovered full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Richards working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Meyers.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers is working Richards over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Meyers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Meyers passes into half guard. Richards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Meyers trying to mount his opponent but Richards defends it. Richards gets back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyers wants to control from the top but Richards keeps moving. Richards has his foot on Meyers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meyers works his way back into a safe position though. Meyers looking to pass the guard. Meyers lying in Richards's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Richards decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Meyers taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

A very excited looking Tyler Richards made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
