Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa misses with a takedown
and Qushairy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Costa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Qushairy tests Costa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Costa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Qushairy.
Costa moves in looking to clinch but Qushairy pushes him off.
Qushairy shoots in and drives through. Costa sprawls well.
Qushairy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Costa circles away quickly and effectively.
Costa shoots in but Qushairy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Qushairy feints and as Costa raises his hands in defense, Qushairy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Costa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Qushairy is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Qushairy is looking for a sweep. Costa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Qushairy is controlling Costa's trapped leg to prevent Costa from advancing to side control.
Fitry Qushairy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Costa gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Qushairy tries to bum rush Costa with a series of wild strikes but Costa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Qushairy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Costa circles away quickly and effectively.
Qushairy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Costa. That did some damage!

Costa shoots for a takedown but Qushairy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Qushairy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Costa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Costa wants it to stay on the feet.
Qushairy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Costa is fending him off so far but Qushairy persists. Nope, Costa circles away and we're back to standing.
Qushairy throws a low kick, looking for Costa's leg but Costa calmly moves out of range.
Qushairy's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Qushairy duly obliges.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Qushairy gets a double leg takedown into Costa's guard.
Qushairy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Costa's guard.
Qushairy is taking a breather. Costa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fitry Qushairy dominated that round.

Qushairy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Costa is working to avoid the ground and pound but Qushairy connects with a decent elbow.
Costa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Costa tries to escape but Qushairy is in control.

Qushairy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Qushairy connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The referee warns Costa that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Qushairy cracks Costa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Qushairy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
