Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendrik Lamer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Tompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Tompson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendrik Lamer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Tompson!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lamer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lamer is trying to break the clinch but Tompson has him pressed against the cage.
Tompson blocks an elbow strike from Lamer.
Tompson misses with a knee strike.
Tompson tries to land a knee to the head but Lamer blocks with his arms.

Lamer wants the takedown. Tompson is fighting it off but Lamer persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tompson's guard against the cage.
Lamer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tompson wants to stand but Lamer is controlling the position.
Tompson looks winded!
Lamer trying to control but Tompson is working from the bottom.
Lamer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lamer looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Tompson wants to stand and escape but Lamer is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kendrik Lamer.

Lamer clinches with his opponent.
Lamer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tompson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lamer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tompson walks away with a smile on his face. Lamer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lamer throws a sloppy head kick
and Tompson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tompson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tompson misses with a knee to the head.
Tompson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lamer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lamer stalls.
Tompson tries to land a knee to the head but Lamer blocks with his arms.
Lamer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Tompson tries a knee to the head but Lamer blocks it.
Nice body punch from Lamer - that landed with a thud.
Lamer lands with a left to the head.

Lamer breaks the clinch.
Lamer shoots in but Tompson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kendrik Lamer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lamer moves into range and clinches up with Tompson.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lamer lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lamer fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lamer lands a body shot.
Tompson tries a knee to the head but Lamer blocks it.

Lamer pulls Tompson into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lamer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lamer stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Tompson to get to his feet.

Lamer moves into the clinch.
Lamer makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lamer jumps guard.
Lamer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tompson is one step ahead there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lamer is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lamer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lamer lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Lamer stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendrik Lamer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lamer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Lamer moves into the clinch.
Lamer tries to break free but Tompson pushes him back against the cage.
Tompson looking to throw knees to the head but Lamer is blocking nicely.
Tompson tries to land a knee to the head but Lamer blocks with his arms.

Lamer jumps guard and drags Tompson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lamer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lamer is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tompson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lamer's body to avoid the submission. Lamer has instead reached around Tompson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lamer arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kendrik Lamer!
