Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Morpheus Vulcan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vulcan dives in and grabs Ribeiro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ribeiro pushes down on Vulcan's head and hops out.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vulcan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vulcan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ribeiro wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ribeiro thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ribeiro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ribeiro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vulcan manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ribeiro is keen to just control but Vulcan is a slippery customer.

A close round but Morpheus Vulcan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ribeiro throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vulcan.
Vulcan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vulcan doesn't seem bothered though.
Vulcan shoots in but no luck this time.

and Ribeiro counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Vulcan thinking.
Ribeiro slaps away a takedown attempt from Vulcan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Marcelo Ribeiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morpheus Vulcan.
Vulcan shoots in looking for a takedown. Ribeiro tries to sprawl out of it but Vulcan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ribeiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Vulcan with that takedown attempt.

Vulcan is looking to sinch up a triangle. Ribeiro throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Vulcan's body to avoid the submission. Vulcan has instead reached around Ribeiro's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Vulcan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
