PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Nesi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milan Savic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nesi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Van Canto - Battery. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ed Nesi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Milan Savic!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nesi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Savic.
Savic throws a body punch but Nesi moves out of range.
Savic with a hook.
Nesi throws a jab but it's blocked by Savic.
Savic bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Savic defending well as Nesi loads up on a big left hand.

Savic bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savic wants to control but Nesi is keeping him busy.
Nesi pushes Savic away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Savic gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Savic tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Savic goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nesi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Savic but great work by Nesi.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Savic throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nesi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Savic stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Savic misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nesi.
Nesi scores with a jab to the jaw.

Savic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nesi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Savic is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nesi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Savic.

Savic is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nesi is just riding it out for now. Savic eventually gives up the hold.

Savic drops back looking for a leg! Nesi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nesi manages to kick Savic off! Savic jumps back into Nesi's guard.

Savic stops Nesi from standing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Milan Savic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Savic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
