Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Nakahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre comes into a darkened arena with his song building. George St pierre theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Brandon Pierre will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shinji Nakahara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Pierre! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakahara shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pierre is looking for a sweep. Nakahara is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pierre gets back to full guard.
Pierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pierre has his foot on Nakahara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakahara works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre is looking for a triangle here but Nakahara uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nakahara working the ground and pound from side control. Pierre is trying to control Nakahara's posture but Nakahara avoids it. Pierre stops Nakahara from passing to mount. Pierre is looking for a sweep. Nakahara tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nakahara has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Nakahara scores with a takedown into Pierre's guard.

Pierre keeping busy on the bottom but Nakahara has passed one foot through into half guard.
Pierre slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Nakahara has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pierre looks gassed! Pierre is looking for a triangle but Nakahara pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pierre is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakahara looking for a sweep. Not yet Nakahara, not yet. Pierre advances position into side control! Pierre tries to advance to mount but can't. Pierre goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nakahara rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pierre's guard! Nice work there by Nakahara! Pierre working for a triangle but Nakahara defends it easily.
Nakahara trying to control but Pierre is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shinji Nakahara will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Pierre is looking to regain half guard here but Nakahara keeps moving and retains side control. Pierre manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Nakahara is thwarting Pierre's attempts to control the position. Pierre is pressing down on Nakahara's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierre trying to keep a closed guard but Nakahara is proving a slippery customer.
Pierre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakahara's guard. Pierre wants to control from the top but Nakahara keeps moving. Nakahara striking off his back but it's not causing Pierre any problems. Pierre pushing down on Nakahara's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pierre passes to side control. Nakahara tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nakahara, who protects the arm well. Nakahara tries to bench press Pierre off him but Pierre keeps the position. Pierre wants to control but Nakahara is keeping him busy. Pierre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pierre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pierre is looking to take a break and control but Nakahara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakahara prevents Pierre from improving position. Pierre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nakahara is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pierre advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Nakahara feints and as Pierre raises his hands in defense, Nakahara changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nakahara postures up in Pierre's guard and throws a big left but Pierre blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pierre is looking for a triangle but Nakahara pushes his legs off easily.
Nakahara knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pierre on the ground. Pierre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakahara's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pierre works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakahara won't allow Pierre to pass to mount. Pierre has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Nakahara defend it? Pierre steps over the head and cranks it - Nakahara is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pierre!
