Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ismo Laippela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarmo Lenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarmo Lenko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ismo Laippela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarmo Lenko!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laippela tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lenko swivels and escapes.
Lenko leaves Laippela with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Lenko drives through and clinches with Laippela against the cage.

Lenko works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lenko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Laippela escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Laippela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lenko on the ground.

Laippela tries to land a sweep but no joy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lenko lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Laippela working for a triangle but Lenko defends it easily.

Lenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lenko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Lenko lands a couple of digs.
Lenko works over Laippela with some ground and pound from guard.

Lenko drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Lenko as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Laippela screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Lenko! Nice submission victory there!
