Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Santerini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santerini comes to the cage accompanied by "Bodies" Drowning Pool. Brooks has chosen Born Ready as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Santerini! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Brooks! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santerini instigates a clinch. Santerini looks to throw an elbow but misses. Brooks drags the fight down to the ground.
Brooks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Santerini wants to pass the guard but Brooks is keeping the position. Santerini passes Brooks's left leg - he's now in half guard. Santerini passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brooks! Brooks is looking to improve his position but Santerini isn't that keen on the idea. Brooks wants to get back to his feet.
Brooks slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Brooks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Santerini is working away from the top position though. Brooks taking some punishment here, with Santerini in his half guard.

Brooks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Santerini is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brooks has escaped the position, nice work there. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Santerini is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brooks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santerini is breathing heavily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Brooks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santerini as he jumps to the side. Santerini lands a high kick!

Santerini unloads a knee to the mid-section. Brooks lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Santerini gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Santerini pressing his opponent against the cage. Santerini manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Brooks throwing strikes from guard but Santerini blocks nicely. Santerini has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brooks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Brooks trying to control but Santerini is working from the bottom. Santerini is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Brooks thows a big elbow that misses.

Brooks throws a series of strikes that have Santerini backpedaling.
Santerini fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brooks sprawls well initially but Santerini persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Brooks with the active half guard here but Santerini passes nicely into side control. Brooks wants to control but Santerini postures up. Brooks sneaks back into half guard. Santerini is looking to take a break and control but Brooks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Santerini is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brooks moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Brooks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Brooks frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Brooks wants to take Santerini's back here but Santerini is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Brooks is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Santerini has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Santerini is trying desperately to improve position. Brooks breaks from Santerini's wrist control and lands an elbow. Brooks takes Santerini's back. Santerini preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Brooks.

A close second round but Eric Brooks will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Brooks has his takedown stuffed and Santerini counters with a straight right hand. Brooks tries for a takedown but Santerini circles away easily and Santerini counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Santerini. Brooks fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rick Santerini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Brooks. Santerini crunches a lovely knee into Brooks's ribcage. Santerini lands a nice elbow. Brooks has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Santerini avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Santerini is leaning against Brooks and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Santerini has Brooks pushed against the cage. Santerini scores with a hook to the body. Brooks takes a shot to the head. Brooks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Santerini is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Santerini breaks the clinch.
Santerini scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Brooks wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Santerini working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Santerini wants to control from the top but Brooks keeps moving. Santerini is really struggling to control Brooks but he's trying to hold on to the position. Brooks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Santerini is one step ahead there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brooks has his takedown stuffed and Santerini decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brooks's guard. Santerini stays in close to Brooks's body and controls the position. Brooks keeping busy on the bottom but Santerini has passed one foot through into half guard.

Brooks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santerini's guard. Brooks lands a couple of decent looking shots. Brooks looking to pass the guard. Brooks works a leg free and moves into half guard. Brooks tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santerini knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brooks is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Brooks with the ground and pound but Santerini uses the opportunity to regain guard. Santerini working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brooks. Brooks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Santerini works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Brooks wants to control from the top but Santerini keeps moving. Santerini keeping full guard, as Brooks tries to pass. Brooks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Rick Santerini showed his dominance in that final round. Well Santerini has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
