Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Silan Hedaros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommie Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Silan Hedaros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommie Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedaros pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Karlsson instigates a clinch.

Hedaros breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hedaros connects with a leg kick. Karlsson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Karlsson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hedaros throws a lazy head kick

and Karlsson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Karlsson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hedaros has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Karlsson is proving hard to escape from.

Hedaros wants to stand and escape but instead Karlsson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Hedaros is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karlsson passes Hedaros's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Karlsson works his way into full mount!
You get the feeling that Hedaros really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hedaros's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Hedaros wants to get back to his feet.
Karlsson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like Karlsson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tommie Karlsson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hedaros misses the shot to the body.
Hedaros throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hedaros misses with a two punch combination.

Karlsson closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Karlsson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Karlsson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hedaros throws a head kick but Karlsson moves out of range.

Karlsson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Karlsson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hedaros looks like he's trying to stand up.

Karlsson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hedaros with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Karlsson is controlling the pace.
Karlsson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Karlsson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Karlsson has control of Hedaros's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hedaros regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Karlsson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karlsson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hedaros manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Karlsson doesn't manage to clinch there - Hedaros circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommie Karlsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Hedaros swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hedaros falls off balance throwing a combination

and Karlsson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Karlsson.
Hedaros is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Karlsson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Karlsson is trying to drag Hedaros to the mat but Hedaros just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Karlsson pulls guard effortlessly.
Hedaros won't allow Karlsson to sweep him here.
Hedaros trying to control the position from guard on top but Karlsson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hedaros is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Karlsson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hedaros scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Karlsson keeping moving, preventing Hedaros from controlling successfully.
Karlsson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hedaros is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
BOOM! Karlsson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Karlsson lands a big shot there that rocks Hedaros but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Karlsson landing strikes from the mount and Hedaros is in trouble!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Karlsson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Karlsson cracks Hedaros with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Karlsson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hedaros is now in Karlsson's guard. A big mistake from Karlsson there, giving up the dominant position!
Hedaros wants to stand but Karlsson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hedaros knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karlsson on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Karlsson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hedaros!
