Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Gouken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouken throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gouken throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease.
Diaz throws a body punch but Gouken moves out of range.
Gouken looks to land a right hand but Diaz moved out of range.
Diaz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gouken.
It looks like Scott Gouken has been cut.
A slow jab from Diaz misses its intended target.
Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Gouken.

Gouken explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Gouken fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Diaz.
Diaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Diaz throws a hook but Gouken blocks it.

Gouken pushes Diaz away with a front kick.

and Gouken makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Diaz really felt that one!

Gouken takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gouken connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gouken throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gouken uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaz.

Diaz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gouken lands with a shot to the body.

Gouken dives in and scores a takedown into Diaz's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Gouken sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Diaz's guard.

Gouken uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Diaz wants to improve his position but Gouken is controlling well.
Gouken looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gouken is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A relieved looking Scott Gouken thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
