Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sahzino Sa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sahzino Sa!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Sa tried to score with a low kick but Gracie checks it.
Sa throws a head kick that misses.
Sa is looking to score with low kicks.
Sa throws a quick inside leg kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sa.
Sa working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ground and pound from Sa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Sa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Sa keeps moving and retains side control.
Sa wants to control for a moment but Gracie uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Sa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Sa eventually gives up the hold.

Sa is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sa to get the leverage.
Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Sa sits in half guard.

Sa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily.

Sa wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

Sa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Sa seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Gracie has recovered full guard.
Sa tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sahzino Sa dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sa throws a wild body kick that Gracie sees coming a mile off.
Sa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gracie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sa tries to clinch up.

Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Sa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sa postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.
Sa wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Gracie keeping full guard, as Sa tries to pass.

Sa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sahzino Sa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sa wants to clinch but Gracie slips to the side

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.

Sa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gracie escapes and throws Sa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sa sneaks back into half guard.

Sa actively working from the bottom here.

Sa has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Gracie escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Gracie!
Sa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sahzino Sa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sa.
Sa tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range.
Sahzino Sa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Sa.
Sa wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.

Sa tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Sa thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sa tries to work over Gracie's front leg with a kick but Gracie checks it.
Sa tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sa is looking to clinch.
Sa throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.

Gracie slips a straight right by Sa.

Sa dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.
Sa advances position into side control!
Gracie is looking for a sweep.

Sa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gracie is trying to improve his position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
The strikes coming from Sa are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.

Sa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gracie rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sa's guard! Nice work there by Gracie!

And that's the end of the fight!
Sahzino Sa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
