Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rermes Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Olegovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rermes Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleg Olegovich! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olegovich fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Olegovich shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Olegovich showed some decent athleticism there. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Olegovich trying to control the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like Olegovich might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Olegovich's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Oleg Olegovich was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Olegovich sprawls well. Olegovich wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt. Oleg Olegovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie stuffs the takedown. Olegovich closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gracie quickly recovers to half guard. Gracie wants to improve his position but Olegovich is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Oleg Olegovich. Olegovich drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie tries to improve position but can't. Olegovich tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gracie's legs. Olegovich trying to control the position but Gracie is working away. Gracie seems a little lost for a moment, as Olegovich dominates the positioning. Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Olegovich wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Olegovich staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie manages to get back to half guard. Olegovich slows the pace down in half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Olegovich trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
OK we're going to have a standup here. Oleg Olegovich hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Olegovich gets a takedown into half guard. Olegovich is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Olegovich performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oleg Olegovich dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Olegovich fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Olegovich misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Olegovich shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Olegovich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rermes Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Olegovich. Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gracie has his foot on Olegovich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Olegovich works his way back into a safe position though. Olegovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Olegovich defends it easily. Olegovich passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gracie is working hard here to advance position.

Olegovich is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gracie will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Olegovich is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie is looking for a sweep.

Olegovich throwing strikes but Gracie manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Olegovich shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gracie but Gracie pushes him off and we're back to square one. Horrible takedown by Olegovich or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie which made him look bad. Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Olegovich defends it nicely. Olegovich stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Olegovich wants it to stay on the feet. Gracie tries to sprawl but Olegovich drives through with a takedown into half guard. Olegovich performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Olegovich is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Olegovich wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gracie manages to pass to side control. Olegovich takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Olegovich wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Olegovich is on top in guard.
Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Olegovich is aware though and is defending well. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Olegovich defends it easily. Olegovich slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Olegovich must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Let's hope that Olegovich has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Oleg Olegovich. Well Olegovich has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
