Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between MC Hammerfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Koon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammerfist comes to the cage accompanied by 2 legit 2 quit - MC Hammer. Koon has chosen Zion - Fluke as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, MC Hammerfist! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Koon! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hammerfist counters with a nice body kick.
Hammerfist lands a right hook to the body.
Hammerfist feints and then cracks Koon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Koon down. Hammerfist throws a looping overhand right but Koon ducks down to avoid it. Koon misses with a takedown attempt - Hammerfist sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Koon moves out of range of the body kick. Hammerfist lands with a thumping leg kick.
Koon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Koon showed some decent athleticism there. Koon is working for a kimura but Hammerfist is defending it quite comfortably.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hammerfist trying to hold on to Koon's head to control him but Koon postures up.
Hammerfist is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hammerfist is trying to get back to full guard. Hammerfist actively working from the bottom here. Koon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hammerfist is trying to get back to full guard. Koon is working for a submission of some sort.
Koon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hammerfist doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koon. Koon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hammerfist knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koon is trying to control the action in half guard but Hammerfist is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hammerfist is trying to maintain the position but Koon is very close to passing his half guard. Hammerfist is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Koon pulls his head out easily. Koon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hammerfist moves into full guard.
Hammerfist wants to sweep here but Koon controlling him for the moment. Koon looking to pass the guard. Hammerfist is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Koon trying to control but Hammerfist is working from the bottom. Koon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hammerfist keeping moving, preventing Koon from controlling successfully. Hammerfist controlling the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hammerfist closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice left hand lands by Hammerfist.
Hammerfist misses with a punch on the inside.
Hammerfist tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Koon's elbow. Hammerfist fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hammerfist swings wildly with an uppercut but Koon uses good head movement to avoid it. Hammerfist throws a head punch that misses. Koon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
MC Hammerfist has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Koon. Koon fails to pull guard.
Koon jumps guard but Hammerfist turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koon blocking some punches.
Koon is trying to pull guard but Hammerfist has him pressed against the cage. Koon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hammerfist avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that MC Hammerfist will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hammerfist throws a wild body kick that Koon sees coming a mile off. Hammerfist comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Koon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hammerfist scores with a jab to the body. Nice uppercut lands for Hammerfist. That snapped Koon's head back.
Koon fails with a takedown attempt. Hammerfist lands with an uppercut that bounces Koon off the cage and back into range. Hammerfist lands with a cross. Dan Koon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hammerfist throws a nice inside leg kick. Koon shoots in but no luck this time. Hammerfist cracks the inside of Koon's front leg. Koon is breathing heavily. Koon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hammerfist paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hammerfist lands with an uppercut that bounces Koon off the cage and back into range. Hammerfist just misses with a punch to the body.
Koon tries to clinch but Hammerfist moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Hammerfist thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Koon if he has to take too many more of those.
Hammerfist comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hammerfist lands with a thumping leg kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hammerfist. That's going to slow Koon down. Hammerfist is looking to wear down Koon with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Hammerfist lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hammerfist scores with a sloppy right hand. Koon should have avoided that one. Koon has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hammerfist. Hammerfist circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Koon to the canvas! Koon doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hammerfist keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
