Dela Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dela Cruz wants it to stay on the feet.
Czomp tries to sprawl but Dela Cruz drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dela Cruz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dela Cruz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Czomp looks a forlorn figure.

Czomp is bucking up trying to escape but Dela Cruz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dela Cruz has hold of Czomp's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Czomp manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Czomp has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Dela Cruz has Czomp up against the cage in a clinch.
Czomp is looking to take this one to the mat.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Czomp is defended easily by Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Czomp's guard.
Dela Cruz passes Czomp's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dela Cruz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Czomp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dela Cruz uses his free foot to push down on Czomp's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Czomp.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dela Cruz is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Czomp is defending well though. Dela Cruz let's go of the attempt for now.
Dela Cruz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Czomp is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Dela Cruz has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Czomp! Can he survive? No! He's out! Dela Cruz gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
