The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May looks to land a combination. Gordon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Erik Gordon has been cut.
May jabs Gordon to the body, keeping him at a distance.
May closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
May wants to control but Gordon is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gordon is trying to control May's posture but May avoids it.
May connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gordon some visible discomfort.
Gordon looks winded!
May is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gordon has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gordon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with May. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
May is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gordon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
May scores with a couple of short elbows.
May is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Gordon looks calm but he's in trouble here. May gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Gordon is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! May lets go of the hold and Gordon can pop his arm back in it's socket.
