Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Fontaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia has chosen Stranglehold-Ted Nugent as his entrance music. David Maia is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fontaine looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fontaine! Maia gets back to half guard. Maia looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fontaine tries to stand and escape but Maia is controlling the position.

Maia staggers backwards, shaken.

Fontaine defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Maia stands up from mount. Strange move. Fontaine rushes Maia and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Fontaine manages to break the clinch.
A combination from Fontaine does no damage. Maia has a takedown stuffed. Fontaine buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maia showed some decent athleticism there. Fontaine wants to get back to his feet. Fontaine is defending against the submission attempts here by Maia.

Maia gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Fontaine tries to clinch but Maia is having none of it. Fontaine scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jonny Fontaine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Some wild striking there from Fontaine.
