PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lee Tassen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Weddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weddle has chosen remember the name - fort minor as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lee Tassen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wes Weddle!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tassen swats away the attempt to clinch by Weddle.
Tassen stuns Weddle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Weddle - that will leave a mark!
Wes Weddle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tassen slips a jab and a cross from Weddle.
Weddle chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Weddle tries to close the distance and clinch but Tassen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tassen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tassen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tassen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Weddle tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Weddle is looking to improve his position but Tassen isn't that keen on the idea.
Weddle is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tassen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Weddle hang on?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tassen is landing with some decent strikes but Weddle is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Weddle tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tassen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Weddle is bucking up trying to escape but Tassen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Weddle tries to reverse the position but Tassen maintains control.
Tassen lands a big shot there that rocks Weddle but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Tassen cracks Weddle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Weddle sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Weddle tries to get to full guard but Tassen has control of the leg.
Tassen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tassen is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tassen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tassen prevents Weddle from standing back up.
Weddle tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Tassen winds up and cracks Weddle with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Tassen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.


Weddle is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tassen throws an overhand right that has Weddle reeling! Tassen follows up with more punches and Weddle is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lee Tassen!
