Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luke Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paco Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen La Puerta Negra as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Luke Bryan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez lands a two punch combo.
Bryan closes the distance and clinches up with Mendez, looking for a takedown. Bryan pushes Mendez against the cage but Mendez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bryan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bryan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mendez.

Mendez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Bryan is rocked!
The ground and pound from Mendez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Mendez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mendez tries to clinch but Bryan is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mendez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bryan, pushing him back against the cage.
Mendez lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bryan backwards.

Mendez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mendez moves into range and clinches up with Bryan.
Mendez is trying to push Bryan away but Bryan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Bryan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mendez putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Bryan in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mendez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mendez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bryan misses with a wild combination.
Paco Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bryan connects with a right hand. Mendez shakes it off.
Mendez fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Bryan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendez tries to kick Bryan off but Bryan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bryan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mendez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Bryan has cracked it and Mendez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Bryan!
