Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franco Colli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Franco Colli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Aldo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo closes the distance and pushes Colli back into the cage. Colli pulls Aldo into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Colli has a closed guard, preventing Aldo from standing up. Aldo postures up.
Colli wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Colli has his foot on Aldo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aldo works his way back into a safe position though. Colli tries to land a sweep but no joy. Aldo looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aldo trying to control but Colli is working from the bottom. Colli not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Aldo throws a head kick that Colli semi-blocks.
No joy there for Aldo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Horrible takedown by Colli or perhaps it was just good defense by Aldo which made him look bad. Aldo swinging wildly here.
Aldo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Aldo moves into the clinch. Colli breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Colli swings for the body but Aldo moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aldo looks for a takedown but Colli sprawls well. Franco Colli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Aldo. Aldo tries to close the distance and clinch but Colli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Aldo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Colli tries to avoid it but Aldo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Colli to the ground. Colli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Colli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Aldo dives in and grabs Colli's left leg, looking for a takedown. Colli pushes down on Aldo's head and hops out. Aldo takes the fight into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Aldo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Colli has managed to clinch.

Colli lands a nice shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Colli throws a head kick but Aldo moves out of range.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Colli enables Aldo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Colli manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Aldo looks winded! Colli looking for a sweep. Not yet Colli, not yet. Colli is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aldo is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aldo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Aldo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Colli keeping moving, preventing Aldo from controlling successfully. Aldo is looking to stand up but Colli won't let him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Aldo looking to pass the guard. Aldo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Colli's guard. Colli trying to keep a closed guard but Aldo is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Aldo tries to clinch up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horrible takedown by Aldo or perhaps it was just good defense by Colli which made him look bad. Jose Aldo dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Aldo with a poor takedown so Colli counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Colli slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Colli has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Aldo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Colli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Colli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Aldo working a defensive guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Franco Colli. The fight moves into the clinch position. Aldo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Colli pulls guard. Colli with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Aldo can't handle though.
Colli trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Colli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Colli tries to stand and escape but Aldo is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aldo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Colli prevents Aldo from standing back up.
Aldo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Aldo. Aldo pulls Colli in to control the position. Franco Colli overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Colli postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Aldo is trying to control the position but Colli postures up. Colli tries to stand but Aldo is controlling from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aldo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Aldo is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Colli has passed into side control.
Aldo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Colli presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Colli tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Aldo is squirming around, avoiding Colli's attempts to control the action. Colli controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aldo is working to get back to half guard.
Aldo wants to hold on but Colli pushes him away. Aldo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Aldo tries to lock up and control but Colli gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Franco Colli dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Aldo moves in looking to clinch but Colli pushes him off. Colli clinches with his opponent.
Aldo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Colli tries to work over Aldo's front leg with a kick but Aldo checks it. Colli tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Colli tries to clinch up but Aldo circles away and keeps his distance. Colli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Colli gets the takedown into side control. Aldo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Aldo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Colli is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aldo is trying to control Colli's posture but Colli avoids it. Aldo regains half guard. Colli wants to control but Aldo is keeping him busy. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Colli is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Aldo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Colli takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Franco Colli just wasn't active enough. Colli fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aldo manages to avoid it. Aldo is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Colli drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aldo dives on top into guard. Colli is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Aldo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Aldo trying to control but Colli is working from the bottom. Aldo is pushing down on Colli's leg trying to pass to half guard. Colli is fighting to maintain full guard but Aldo has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Colli does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aldo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Colli has managed to free his arm - good work. Colli is looking to control Aldo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Colli avoid being mounted? Aldo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Aldo tries to clinch but Colli moves out of range. Aldo doesn't manage to clinch there - Colli circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Colli tries a head kick but it misses.
Colli gets caught flat footed, as Aldo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Aldo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Colli looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Aldo puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Colli is looking to improve his position.
Aldo throwing shots but Colli is blocking nicely. Aldo content to control rather than advance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jose Aldo. I think Aldo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
