Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Machado might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Mir! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado tries for a takedown but Mir circles away easily and Mir counters with a head kick. Mir scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mir throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Mir tries for a kimura but Machado is defending well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Machado sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Machado looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Machado looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Machado is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mir pulls his head out easily. Machado on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Machado gets full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Machado keeping full guard, as Mir tries to pass. Mir should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Machado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Machado is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mir frees his head nicely. Oh but Machado has switched to an armbar! Mir is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Johan Machado! A relieved looking Johan Machado thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
