The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Danil moves in looking to clinch but McGee pushes him off.

McGee drives through and clinches with Danil against the cage.
Danil has had enough of the clinch but McGee keeps him there for the moment.

McGee jumps into guard, dragging Danil to the mat.
McGee wants to stand but Danil is controlling the position.
Danil knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGee on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Danil postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Danil is looking to pass into half guard but McGee pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McGee is in guard.

It looks like McGee might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Danil looking to sit in guard and control but McGee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Danil utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dickus McGee wasn't active enough on the ground.
Danil tries to clinch but McGee moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGee moves into range and clinches up with Danil.

McGee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Danil clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
McGee has good solid back control here.
