Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sune Spagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Nickoson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sune Spagat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Nickoson! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spagat shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nickoson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Spagat backs up against the cage.
Spagat closes the distance and clinches. Spagat breaks the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nickoson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Spagat wants to clinch up but Nickoson keeps it at a distance. Nickoson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Spagat backs up against the cage.
Spagat ducks right into an uppercut from Nickoson. Spagat throws a right and a left that Nickoson avoids nicely. Nickoson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Spagat's head. Nickoson lands with a shot to the body. Spagat tries to clinch up but Nickoson circles away and keeps his distance. Nickoson dives in and grabs Spagat's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spagat pushes down on Nickoson's head and hops out. Nickoson throws a series of punches but Spagat moves out of range. Nickoson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Spagat checks it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spagat throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nickoson. Nickoson scores with a jab. Nickoson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Spagat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nickoson scores with a nice strike. Nickoson feints a jab promting Spagat to slip. Nickoson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Spagat slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spagat tries to close the distance and clinch but Nickoson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nickoson jabs at Spagat's body. Spagat tries to clinch there but Nickoson circles away.
Spagat is looking to clinch. Nickoson is looking to chop away at Spagat's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Nickoson checks a leg kick. Nickoson feints a jab promting Spagat to slip. Nickoson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Spagat slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Sloppy strikes from Spagat. Those never looked like landing. Spagat is breathing heavily. Nickoson throws a left that rocks Spagat and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Nickoson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Spagat regain composure!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Nickoson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Nickoson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nickoson trying to control the action but Spagat is working from the bottom. Nickoson in side control, just content to control the action for now. Nickoson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Spagat is avoiding damage well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nickoson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Spagat knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Spagat taking a bit of punishment here - Nickoson scoring with strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nickoson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Spagat sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Nickoson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spagat keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Nickoson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nickoson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Spagat looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A lazy left from Nickoson finds it's target. Spagat on the wrong end of a nice hook. Oooh a lovely combination from Nickoson sends Spagat down but not out. Nickoson dives into side control looking to finish.
Spagat is rocked!
It looks like Sune Spagat has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nickoson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Spagat is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Oh Spagat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nickoson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Spagat seems to have got his legs back now. Nickoson misses with the ground and pound. Nickoson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nickoson landing a few strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nickoson throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Nickoson working the ground and pound but Spagat is defending the strikes. Nickoson lands an elbow. Nickoson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Spagat prevents Nickoson from improving position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nickoson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Nickoson landing strikes. Spagat taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nickoson looks up at the clock and then as Spagat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nickoson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nickoson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nickoson working the ground and pound. Nickoson staying calm. Nickoson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Spagat has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nickoson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Nickoson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sune Spagat's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Nickoson works the jab nicely. Spagat fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nickoson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Spagat with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nickoson to score with a decent uppercut. Spagat moves in looking to clinch but Nickoson pushes him off. Nice combo by Nickoson! Oh, that's hurt him - Spagat falls to the canvas and Nickoson follows him into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Nickoson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Nickoson tries to advance to mount but Spagat denies him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nickoson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nickoson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nickoson working the body and head with strikes. Nickoson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Nickoson looks up at the clock and then as Spagat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nickoson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Nickoson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Spagat! Alexander Nickoson has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nickoson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Spagat hang on? Nickoson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
This has been an exciting period of action! Spagat wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nickoson.
Spagat is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Nickoson breaks from Spagat's wrist control and lands an elbow. Nickoson landing punches. Nickoson raining down hammerfists from mount. Nickoson scoring with strikes but Spagat is staying in there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nickoson controlling his opponent. BOOM! Nickoson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nickoson lands a big elbow. Nickoson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Poor strikes thrown by Nickoson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Nickoson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nickoson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Nickoson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Spagat can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexander Nickoson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Nickoson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
