The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanganberger stuffs the takedown attempt from Castro. Castro gets slowly back to his feet.
Spanganberger throws a right and a left that both miss.
Castro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spanganberger is fending him off so far but Castro persists. Nope, Spanganberger circles away and we're back to standing.

Spanganberger leaves Castro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Corey Spanganberger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fiedel Castro.

Spanganberger throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Castro on the side of the head.

Castro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Castro lands in his opponent's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Castro throws a big elbow that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Castro drops back looking for a leg! Spanganberger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spanganberger manages to kick Castro off! Castro jumps back into Spanganberger's guard.

Castro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Castro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Castro is pushing down on Spanganberger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spanganberger is fighting to maintain full guard but Castro has managed to sneak the leg through.
Spanganberger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castro on the ground.

Castro is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Castro seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Spanganberger is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
