The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saffy shoots in but no luck this time.
Calindo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Saffy ducks right into an uppercut from Calindo.
Saffy shoots in but Calindo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Calindo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Calindo throws a hook but Saffy avoids it easily.
Saffy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Calindo.
Saffy shoots in for a takedown but Calindo shows good takedown defense.
Rey Calindo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Saffy.

Calindo drives through and clinches with Saffy against the cage.

Calindo swings wildly with an uppercut but Saffy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Saffy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Calindo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Calindo has a couple of punches blocked by Saffy.
Saffy seems to have recovered his senses.
Saffy tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Saffy is working for takedown but Calindo is calmly controlling the position for now.
Saffy looks winded!
Calindo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Saffy backwards.
Calindo creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Saffy with a big uppercut! Saffy tries to clinch up but Calindo pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Saffy to the mat! Saffy covers up and Calindo unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Rey Calindo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
